Working a full-time job during the summer months is no fun. Instead of relaxing on a beach somewhere or soaking up the sun with friends, you're stuck at work. So, what can you do to make the most of it while you work through the summer?
Plan An Office Outing
You spend so much time with your coworkers anyway – why not include everyone in an office outing of some kind? You can take a weekend trip to the beach, or just walk down the street to the park for a picnic. Getting outside with your coworkers and enjoying your time together is a great way to make the most of summer, even when you're working full-time.
Keep Your Car Packed
Keep a bag of summer supplies packed in your car – include towels, sunscreen, and swimwear. That way, you're ready to hit the beach or the pool whenever the occasion comes. Once you've clocked out for the day, you can head directly to your destination for some summer fun.
Eat Lunch Outside
One of the simplest ways to make the most of summer when working full-time is to take your lunch break outside. You can do it with coworkers, or all by yourself. Just having that outdoor break in the middle of your shift makes a huge difference for your mood and for the rest of your shift.
Bike To Work
If you live close enough to your workplace, you could try biking or even walking to work. This is a great way to get some endorphins flowing before you clock in for the day, not to mention getting some fresh air before work starts. Plus, biking or walking is great for the environment as compared with driving every day.
Use Time Off Strategically
Use your time off strategically this summer – plan it around a summer holiday like the Fourth of July or Labor Day to give yourself an extra-long weekend. Or, if you don't want to burn through your PTO too quickly, take a half-day on a Friday. You'll be amazed at what that extra time lets you do in a day.
